Note Card Confessions
I chose to use Crispus Attucks as my note card confession because he is an important part that led up to the American Revolution and not too many people know about him and the sacrifice that he made. He was the first person to be shot and killed at the Boston Massacre and was used as fuel to start the American Revolution against the British. To make this I used my desk lamp and aimed it toward myself to get the right lighting, and then I used my iPad to record myself flipping through the cards while I used my phone to play music for the confession. I chose this topic because I am in an American Revolution class this semester and I think this would be a good lesson to teach over the Boston Massacre. This assignment is perfect for a social studies classroom because you can take key role players from History and explain something from their point of view, while the students get to learn about multiple people from watching their peers do their videos. If I was doing a unit over any type of war or major event, there would be a plethora of people that students could pick so that they could find someone that interests them so that they can do their best work. This is something that I would love to use in my classroom in the future.
